Jerry's Faux Labels.......great!

Tue Oct 17, 2006 7:23 pm

I have never really liked the round labeled Aqua Master. The labels always seemed to be in such poor condition. As the label covers so much of the box, it really effects the appearance. According to the regional sale rep., in Australia when the last ones were being sold to the shops, the distributor was clearing them out for only $50 Australian ($40 USD). I wish I had been here when that was going on.

Recently a friend asked me if I would buy one from him, to help him finance another project. As he was a friend, I said yes, and got one with a terrible label. I set about to correct the flaws and the first thing I did was to contact Jerry Moseman for a new round label. I used this site.

Jerry promptly air mailed one to Australia. I paid with PayPal and that made it easy. I was surprized, as I was expecting a metal foil label, as I had seen many years ago. Jerry's label restored the regulator like I had not expected. As it covers so much of the box, it improves the appearance of even an abused regulator.

I hope I don't get into trouble for this one, but, letting the 'cat-out-of-the-bag', I understand Jerry will offer a round Phoenix label soon. It will be a rather special label. You might want to get your order in, if you are planning to use a round label Aqua Master for your Phoenix conversion.

Jerry's label will make Bryan and Luis' project shine, as indeed it should.

Label appearance makes all the difference to a regulator restoration project, as that's where the eye focuses first. I'd better stop here. I was so impressed with his label that this post is starting to read like an advertisement.

I got a round label from Jerry for the Phoenix, it goes on the knob and not on the box unless he is coming out with another? Not sure I would do that for mine but I do like the Phoenix symbol on the knob.

Some round labels were foil I am told but all of the ones I have seen actually have a thick metal emblem that is silk screened---not a foil label. The larger round emblem does tend to scratch easily and especially since it covers more area is then subjected to more likely damage.

I like the round labels best and one of the reasons is that the top box seems stronger thanks to the indentation which makes it more rigid and the edges of the boxes seem crisper. Maybe it is my imagination. The large flat area of the square lables just seems prone to distoration. Voit had those ridges in some of their models perhaps for the same reason, just a guess that could be wrong but it surely makes them stiffer.

The labels are very nice, Jerry does a fine job on them and they look really good.

I also own a Faux Label from Jerry.

I purchased a brass round RAM label to compliment the brass Phoenix knob label on my PRAM. The quality is outstanding and the labels are awesome!

Whenever I need another label you can bet that I will be buying it from Jerry. 8)

They are very sharp indeed. Thanks jerry for making these avail to us. Any more designs in the future?

I too concur about Mr. Moseman's quality labels. I have acquired several. Check out the gallery. My old regs look brand new.
Diving like back when toilets used to really flush, styrofoam was non-existant in a car, and seltzer water wasn't so damn expensive.
