New VDH Logo

Fri Jan 13, 2012 11:22 pm

Big thanks to Santa for bringing me a couple of new items for 2012 that I'll be using for various promotions and publications. You are welcome to use these on your website or social media page as long as you don't modify them. I hope you enjoy them and I welcome your feedback.

Bryan,

I think both are great and very 8)
Have you given any though to making the top one a sticker?

The top one was used in 58 on a few USD advertisements.....I took that design and simply put my company name and location on it. I did not try to screw up the design by adding a lot of poorly drawn nonsense on it as you will see in other versions of it. Those modifications really detract from the simplistic beauty of the original in my opinion. Mine uses only the elements of the original design and is meant to be an homage to the first "aqua-lung" divers and how much their history means to us today.
And yes there will be promotional items including stickers to follow later on.

Digging the new logos (especially the 2nd one), though funnily, I'm now suddenly feeling nostalgic for the previous one :D

Quick question regarding the 1st logo: Isn't Rob experiencing some difficulty with the diorama shirts because (If I inferred correctly) of someone laying claim to the design? Would this present a problem based on "prior art?"

There is another version of the sticker that someone else made. It had several modifications/additions to the original. As can clearly be seen in the pictures above my new logo is a direct copy of the ORIGINALthat was put out by US Divers. Mine is not a copy of any other designs. If US Divers does not want me to use their artwork to advertise then I'm sure they will let me know.
I am prevented from commenting on Rob situation as I was involved with it too. We both realize that you guys like the design and I hope that you will enjoy one that is exactly like the original from 58 with a little advertising for myself thrown in :D

I like it a lot. It is nice to see a cleaned up and more accurate version finally coming out there. As for the second one, I must confess that I was the model  .

I can't wait to get some new VDH decals!

It is also great to see something positive coming out of the negative!
