Here's an unfinished video I'm working on that I thought I'd share for a laugh.

A friend of mine who works in film has been talking to me about adding a common intro to my videos to create a general theme and trying to add narration, audio etc... instead of just dubbing in other peoples songs.
It's a rough draft, or more accurately, a study piece. The sound is terrible (from a kids keyboard no less) and bogs down in places (processing glitch) but I'm having fun exploring the process so far and learning a lot.
Like my diving equipment, my goal is to make video with all my own content, even if it is a little rough and cheezy

Here's the finished product, minus my home sound dubbing. I just didn't like the quality from my kids toy piano though I am looking at some online soundboard options for the future.

Great! Now on to Hollywood...

I suspect that you are aware that the same "basic back pack" was produced by US Divers in 1961 as catalog #0816 as the 2 in 1 pack.

The pack brought back long dormant memories- I used the very same US military pack the first time I hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in about 1955.

The book you display Carriers DIVE was published in four editions; 1955,1957, 1963 & 1973. All are essentially the same with equipment updates. Might want to be on the prowl for all editions- with your luck and or ability you will find all of them by next week.

I did not know that pack was sold by USD, but... small world.

This is a pack I picked up a few years ago for $10 with an original hydro of 1958 (and air still in it):

The straps were rotted so I had to remake them:

- Nice video Dale. Kind of an odd boat design... It would be neat to know what it was for... Nice that its as intact as it is and the water's clear enough to video.

Indeed an odd design. I spent a lot of time on the net trying to find other examples of it but came up flat. It is very heavily constructed so I assume it was a work boat. Around here that would probably mean logging but the lake it's in is very small for that. Perhaps it was dumped there after it's useful life somewhere else.
The closest I came is either a boom boat (used to push logs around in the water) or an alligator/winch boat (used to haul logs). I would assume the winch was removed if so.
In either case, a fun little mystery to work on.

Brian, no zebra mussels here (yet) but to compensate you guys have a lot of underwater history on your side. Around here, anything in the early 1900's is considered old. 1800's... fuggetaboutit.
