I just (last night) finished doubling-up my OMS (Faber) LP 46 cylinders using bands from Piranha and a U.S. Divers single outlet manifold. My intention is/was to use my VDH Vintage Plate with these "baby doubles." I hope to source and purchase some sex nuts soon to complete this setup. Meanwhile, I attached my old DiveRite doubles Al backplate.
Couple of questions:
1. These very narrow (5.5" OD) tanks mean that the Phoenix nozzle on my DAAM extends the regulator "can" way past what will be the plane of the Vintage plate. Is this a problem for anyone who has tried this? Do you wish you had used tanks having a bigger OD (e.g., 6.9" old-school PST '72, or 7.25" Luxfer Al 63, like @rhwestfall, above)?
2. For anyone who has tried this, have you wished you had used the slightly longer Faber LP 50's (vs. 46's), instead?
Thanks,
rx7diver
