Need some help from a U.S.Divers Valve mechanische Experten

Sat Mar 27, 2010 6:14 pm

Dudes,

I need some help from the mechanical experts on U.S.Divers valves here on the board. I have a pristine condition model J2 0518 doubles manifold that is being used on a set of tanks I am putting together. I partially disassembled it to get a look at the seat for the reserve valve. (at least I am calling it that, as I don't know what U.S.Divers called the part)

First question, I would like to see an exploded view showing all the inner bits and part numbers. Does anyone have one in PDF format?

Second question, I have another manifold that needs a new one and I was wondering if this part is still available to purchase? Is so what would the proper name and part number be?

Last question, what would the mfg. date be for the manifold in the photos? I have looked in the AQUA-LUNG catalogs that Bryan has in the download area and in all of them it shows this manifold not using the black rubber knobs.

Photos and CAD drawing follow.

Thanks,

Ken.

Drawing is most likely the same as the one from Robert's Basic Scuba, figure 3-89 p. 278. In that schematic that part is # 0502-29 Disc & retainer assembly. I have a friend who should be able to get one for you. I will let you know when I contact him.

The valve post dates 1970, the last year for which I have a catalog.

Not a pdf, but a jpeg, but here is the schematic. I think, could be wrong, that the internals stayed the same throughout the entire 3-piece manifold life. The handles just seemed to change. Again, not sure.
