Aquamaster with double stamped label

Sun Jan 11, 2015 2:20 am

I ran across a DAAM with a can stamped for both rectangular and round labels. First one I've seen personally.

Yeah, it was just the first one I had run across. It's sitting in a salt x bath right now, looking prettier by the minute.

I found the same thing when I was replacing the old round aquamaster decal with a new one from Bryan. I have read multiple times on the forum that USD was good at using any parts that they had to produce new items. Seems smart to me.

I might add to this....When you run across something you think is unusual about a piece of gear POST IT.....May turn out to be common like this one but IT MAY NOT....The only stupid question is the one we don't ask. There is still a lot of gear out there that has been forgotten for years and when it sees the light of day again I'd like to see and know about it :D

I have a Royal Aqua Master that is stamped for both labels. I only have a round label, there is no square brass label on the reg.

For those regs that have both labels, do any of the serial numbers match?

Mine didn't. It did have a lot of adhesive on the cans, so I assume that there was a round label glued on at some point.

The rarest part of my reg is that is was a gift from the dive shop owner. I wandered into his shop this weekend while doing some hiking in the area, and we got to talking about vintage gear. He had a few double hose regs on display, including a Loosco Dive-Safe in excellent condition.

Near the Loosco was that DAAM, sitting in a corner. He picked it up, handed it to me and said "Merry Christmas." I think I have a new favorite dive shop! :D

To forestall that, I don't think he's interested in selling it :)
I'll be talking to him later, so if he is looking to put anything up for sale, I'll post it in the "For Sale" section.
