Silicone duckbill??

The last DAAM I picked up has a duckbill like none I've seen before.
It is fairly heavy duty and is glossy black, but what makes it really unusual is that it wasn't stuck to the horn or the hose at all, and the only deterioration is at the very edge where it stuck out from under the end of the hose. It still looks nearly new and useable.
Have there been any silicone duckbills produced, reproduction or original, or any made from some other long-lasting material?

Have you checked out the new reproduction duckbills over at VSS? They seem to match the description you just gave.

The regulator it came from was a display regulator with a fair amount of dust in the bottom box. I doubt it's been used in years, or even decades.
Dan's new one looks similar, but not an exact match. Thanks for the thought.

I have a few that came from late model Spirotechnique Royal Mistrals that do not stick to anything....They are unique to European regulators I think as the bill ends are rounded off and not square cut like the domestic ones....... I would like to build them in Silicone but I think the cost will outweigh the benifit as long as I can keep the price of the rubber ones really cheap......

for what it costs to replace a duckbill, the rubber ones are a good buy. It is almost assured that when i take off the hoses, i tear one up to some degree, thats why i keep a stock of six around all the time...hmm seems my stock is down in duckbills time to order some more

It's not rounded off, but here is a picture of it. Every other duckbill I've gotten in a regulator has taken a bunch of elbow grease to get out. This one still looks nice. I assume the small depressions in the rubber are from the molding process.

The duckbill is probably rubber. It looks like many of the original USD items I've replaced. The irregularities in the surface are typical of deterioration. New flutter valves did not look like that. It may be that the valve was only used in fresh water if at all.

The imperfections are mold marks.Marvel sold this years ago they are not orginial.
