Another eBay screwing....

Sun Nov 26, 2006 10:59 am

Just when you thought that Rob was alone in his battles with an eBay seller. I purchased an AMF Swimaster BC from a seller who listed it as, "looks near mint". I guess that means it would have been mint, had the inflator hose not been broken half way off...

Oh, well.....It is the first real screwing I've received over the years....

And to think that the seller lists himself as "eliteseller". Yeah, right!

Unfortunate to say the least. I also lost out when I returned my item, but he did finally relent on the over charge on the shipping. I think some folks are more likely to try a fast one when they are selling a vintage or low priced item. Thanks for the heads up on this seller Greg.

Greg,

Sorry to hear that this transaction was not what you should have been able to reasonably expect. :(

Some sellers have no remorse in their quest for the almighty dollar.

Like Rob said "Thanks for the heads up on this seller".

Bummer~

That bites, Greg. I've had descriptions/conditions go both ways, I got a 1st edition Cousteau book, forget the name now, but the seller had packed it so crappily that the only thing that kept it from falling out of the box was duct tape on the dust jacket, which was trashed.

Going the other way, one Nemrod I got on eBay still had talc on the hoses & came in the original box (not mentioned in the ebay ad). I emailed the guy & he said the thing had spent its life in the display counter, never been wet.
Sorta like a crap shoot sometimes.
