I had a good chuckle over the green hoses. Here is a true story for you. The green hoses you show for sale, Bryan, are the exact hoses a guy in our club hooked up to a homemade air compressor. He had this air compressor on a dock at Lake Geneva and started up the compressor. There was absolutely no air intake higher than the exhaust. Nothing. Now, this was years ago, maybe 35 or so. Of course this guy never dove, but had all the equipment. He unravelled this green hose, about 50 feet of it, and started the engine on the compressor. He had somehow rigged a single hose regulator on this thing and was on the dock breathing out of it. Remember....the exhaust is going who knows where, and probably getting sucked in the intake and this guy is breathing carbon monoxide. So he breathed on the regulator a little bit, then offered everyone a chance to go use this homemade hookah rig underwater off the dock. No one there took up the offer to say the least. This guy had more money than brains. He then bought a milk truck and took off the stainless steel milk storage container and proceeded to 'make' a decompression chamber out of it.
He actually cut out port holes in the container and installed portholes from shipwrecks. I kid you not! In 38 yrs of diving, I have yet to see him get in the water. He also had an Army Duck he was going to use in Lake Michigan for wreck diving. I had forgotten this until I saw those green hoses. Thanks a lot....I now have to clean up coffee off my computer screen and have tears running down my face from laughing.
