A partial score from the depths of the warehouse

here is a nice haul from my colleague who put me on to some of the goodies that may come out.

A nice nearly mint USd looks like a 50 cu ft with a strange but mint valve, (which I have never seen this type before with the extra plug) and a Aquadiv regulator , in the original box. Note the harness is also mint. I have the original USd box the tank came with and the two manuals. Pix to follow if I dont mess them up. The aqualung decal is box worn, from rolling around in its box all this time. Tank had some air in it when I popped the valve.








there are at least two regs there, because I saw the accordion fles hoses all jumbled around, sticking out behind a box, which unfortunately I did not have time to see. On my next trip... perhaps the gods of vintage diving will be generous...as always I am thankful to them for the bounty provided.

All this stuff is either unused, or as new unused, or very gently used the tank is 1961

The valve is a K-60. It is for a 3/4" O ring tank and will fit modern tanks but, I would keep it just where it is. The burst disc is behind the rear plug and is known as a "bullet" as it flies out when the disc bursts. If you want to use the tank or valve, it should be changed. These tanks flip over if the disc bursts, as the air escapes in a straight line like a rocket engine. A normal modern burst disc assembly will fit and is easy to change. The 'bullet' is considered a dangerous projectile and tanks were always filled with the 'bullet' pointing away. The seal will have to be picked out when you pull the valve as it will have dried out after 45 years. The seals are brittle, but easily replaced. The other plug was for either joining tanks or a pressure gauge and were rarely used, I believe.

The back pack was a very popular one in the 60s and replaced plain bands and the early harness. Slide the tank down to take it off. The band part can break if over opened. There is a folding wing nut on one side. It will need some silicone lube. You have a treasure!

I know nothing about the regulators. I'll bow to the expertise of Sam, Bryan or someone else

Nice find there. Isn't it interesting how it was that gear used to be sold as a scuba set and the popularity of the smaller tanks in such sets.

Dont know much oif anythiung about the reg, it still has the "tested" bands still on it. really good shape. serial is 2XXX from memroy serves me correctly. I like the original booklets, goos info and schematics on DAAm , Mistarl and a single hose
