Non Magnetic Aluminum Tanks Color Code?

Anyone by chance have a color code for the Non Magnetic aluminum tanks. Probably some sort of Navy Gray but was hoping someone has researched this before. Thanks in advance. Robohips

My dad served in the navy uring WW2 , was on the Inchon invasion and was the CO of a river assault squadron in Vietnam. He always told me that when in doubt of what to do , salute it if it moves and if it doesn't move paint it haze gray. HAZE GRAY # 26270 available from any milspec paint store.

Over the years the Navy used several different shades of gray. No one probably knows what shade was used originally and depending on the year of manufacture it could have been different. And again those repainted in the field could have been in a shade different from the original. I have seen pictures of them with obviously different shades. Just pick a shade.

I have 3 sets if you want to look at them. 1 set is the original "no neck" set.
