Looking good Mr. Manatee. Thanks for the pictures.

Ft. Stark, Newcastle, NH
Water temperature 44F.

Heading back to the Caribbean sounds really good!
The cold is not too bad… It is the gear needed to stay warm… and the weight needed to sink it (in the ocean, salt water).

You didnt get the memo.......Brignt color jets are for Caribbean Luxury Dives only......Black jets are to be used on any dives requiring anything more than a 5 mil suit.... :)

Well, we have to break the rules up here if you want to see each other underwater.
The visibility was outstanding yesterday... at least 15 feet, maybe 20 feet.

Normally the only way you can see your buddy is if they have yellow fins.

You laugh, but how many of these critters did you see today? Moon-snail, flounders, nudibranch, crabs, angry crabs, etc.

I know… I know… this wasn’t a “serious dive”, we didn’t go to 100 ft.

Today I was trying a new dry-suit that I just inherit. It belonged to my high school dive buddy (Jim Louvau), who lost his fight with cancer last November. It was a new suit. He never got to use it. It is a great suit.

I also inherit his Argonaut. One of the original first four prototypes. He was one of the first four investors.

I will definitely be visible with this suit.

This is john. He was my dive buddy. He actually owns an Argonaut, but decided to try one of his single hose regulators today. How can he stand does bubbles?

I never see my bubbles. :D

Diving in New England looks a lot like diving in Alaska. I imagine we have similar gear needs as well.

My condolences on the loss of your friend.

looks just like here in the Great Lakes, but our water doesn't taste so nasty.....

(though the creatures are much more exciting than the stuff we have)

I have never been to Alaska, but last year I dove in Puget Sound. There were definitely similarities between some f the marine life over there and here, but I actually thought the diving over there was better. Slightly better visibility and some cool marine life that we don’t have here. I am hopping I get to dive over there again this summer.

There is nothing more special than honoring a fellow friend/diver with continuing to use their equipment. This past weekend, I regrettably buried a friend/dive buddy who passed much too early at 56. I have a piece of his gear that will be with me in his remembrance every chance I have to utilize it.

Oh, now I see why they call them "Moon Snails"... or is that Luis coming out of his dry suit?
