Keep the personal name tag?

Sun Feb 02, 2014 2:00 pm

Thanks for all the help with ID'ing and putting into perspective the regs in my first two posts.(funny 50 and naked MU)
I have one more reg to ask advice on......actually I think it's more I just want to show off a newly acquired double hose.

This originally came with yellow hoses and straight mouthpiece. Black hoses and EZ Clear curved would be more appropriate.
The "Jack the Frogman" sticker will stay.
My question is about the personal name sticker....Should I keep it?

I would see if there is any info on the name.

Congrats on stealing that regulator. What a price!

It's a US Royal Mistral so it's not really diveable (search the forum as to why) The Jack the Frogman label makes a great display piece and is an important part of early diving history in the upper Midwest. The DYNAMO (sp) label on the regulator was very common for the time so unless your research concludes it belonged to a famous U/W explorer then in my opinion it adds nothing to the providence of the regulator.

Surprisingly, no leaks when hooked to a 1500psi supply.
Haven't tested the IP.
But I agree this one is not headed to the ocean anytime soon.

That is going to be tough to test seeing as the Royal Mistral is a single stage.

It's not a matter of if the HP seat will fail it's just a matter of when.
