Vintage sucks

Sat Jan 04, 2014 10:24 am

2013 is over and it goes down in the history book as the first year since 1997 that I have not done one single dive. Medical and other life issues conspired to keep me dry. I am hopeful I will not be saying the same next year. I will mark my 70 birthday this year and hope to make a birthday dive and I am planning on seeing everyone at Portage this year as my daughter is moving to Findlay, OH 20 miles from Portage. If only a 70 year old human could be restored as easily as as an old Broxton.

We will see you at Portage if not sooner. Rob and I are still trying to figure out how to make this years event the biggest SCUBA gear garage sale in the midwest but so far it's still in idea form only...

Good to hear that you're going to be at Portage this year Tom; I've never had the opportunity to meet you, and I'll be looking forward to it. Hopefully we'll have a big turnout this coming year! :D See everyone then. Terry

Sorry to hear about 'no diving' last year, but hope 2014 is a lot better and I am sure it will be. I am glad you keep posting despite not diving last year. I always read the "Captain" posts as they usually contain some practical hands on info.

November 7, 2043, there is a fins smack down involving me, buddhasummer and AFdivedoc. The location is Commercial Pier, Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida

At 10AM or high tide, whichever occurs first. I need you for backup Captain, you will only be 101 years old, I will be just 90.

I hope to see you at Portage this coming year Tom! You are the only gentleman I have met who could explain to me how to rebuild a NONMAG in Louisiana drawl on my cell phone while I was crammed into my garage 7 beers deep. You have probably forgotten more than I have ever learned

Well, technically, I was exaggerating, I will only be 89  . Besides, I think this will be more of a drinking adventure than diving. But there is wheel chair access. Okay, I am adding Captain to the ICalendar in the Cloud.

I haven't been to Portage the last couple of years, but look forward to seeing you and Cindy this year.
