Mistral or Jet Air

I picked up a Jet Air a few weeks back because I thought it was a good price and the Mistrals usually cost more. Well I ended up getting a Mistral ( because I just had to have one), and am now wondering if I should keep the Jet Air. Aside from it looking cool, I'll probably only dive the Mistral. What to do, what to do?

keep both, then get a couple of Spiros (one original one Royal) to keep them company!
throw in a couple of Voits and you will have a happy little family of single stagers
just make sure you dive them all equally so none get jelous.

Like any other DH junky, I would keep, restore and dive both. One note, the Jet Air typically sells for more than a Mistral. They are a little more rare. How much depends on which model you have and condition. They are not as good a performers as the Mistral but still worth having in a collection.

You'll want to keep both. I sold my JetAir a few squares back. It was a sweet reg and I enjoyed diving it, but I needed the cash at the time. I'll have to find another one of these days.

I bought the black 1020. I probably will keep it because it is a neat piece of equipment. It's funny, I've always wanted a DH reg and have never dove one, but in the past month I have bought four. I always have expensive hobbies.

I have both (plus a Stream Air), they all breathe equally well at leisure depths, and depending on how I feel either the Jet Air or the Stream Air/Mistral will get a call to service. I would consider the Mistral the more classic of the two, due to its metal can construction; the Jet Air is the "rental/training" regulator, what everybody learned on up at Sportsman's Lake in 1963, that kind of thing.

Let the Addiction commence: Just wait until you discover Voit double hoses...

Scrap both and get a Healthways Gold Label!! FAAAARRR superior to those straw sucking mistrals and cheapy jet airs......

If your Mistral is a straw sucker, you haven't tuned it correctly. Jet Air too for that matter. Nothing wrong with a Healthway's Gold Label. That's a fine reg all by itself if you don't attempt to use the original hose set.

I love the single stage designs. As Bryan says, "They are the AK47 or regulators!"

The gold label is pretty cool and can be had on the Bay for a good price from time to time.

Any tricks for getting the new silicone diaphragm to seat properly in the jet air can? Im having a heck of a time getting mine all the way in.

After discussing with my buddy Allan about putting a mistral nozzle in a jet air, I did so and dove it today. You know, It seemed the same as in the mistral, despite the fact the nozzle is pointed at the side of the intake. Anyone else concur?
