missing Scott mask

Does anyone know Nick Bonavita of Diamond Point, NY? He goes by "hardhatdiver" I sent him $325.00 on July 3rd for a Scott hydro pak mask that he had listed on another vintage diving site. I last heard from him on July 9th. He has since cut off all methods of communication. He had a shop in Clifton Park, NY called Capitaland Scuba Center. Phone and email at the shop have been shut down. I fear the worst.

Just wanted to say that really blows, and I hope you get somewhere with it!

It was good thinking to post here, I don't doubt that someone will have crossed his path. In this digital age now, I'm increasingly amazed how hard it is to not leave a trail, for better or worse, and even more amazed how few people seem to consider that when weighing the consequences of their actions.

Thanks for letting everyone know that this guy is a scam artist. I see he has a museum and it's possible he may be letting go of more gear in the near future.

The one that is on ebay right now is not the same one. I did call the people next door to Nick and left a message. So far no return call.

I just received a photocopy of my money order. It was signed and cashed by Nick. Still nothing from the thief.

Got a email from Nick today. Said he has been off line for 4 months and forgot to send the mask. I will let everone know when I get the mask.

Scott mask showed up late today. It looks fine and Nick included a first stage. I am relieved that this has been settled. I am happy and all is well. Happy Thanksgiving!

That is definitely not the ending I was expecting to your ordeal. Great news that you got even more than expected with the inclusion of the first stage. What good luck, you might want to consider buying a lottery ticket or two.
