Actual Pin Length of DA-AquaMaster

Guys:
I am working on my DA-Aquamaster and I would really like to put it back in its original spec. My question.... what is the length of the pin? I measured it already,write it in my notebook, but since I am out of town right now. I cannot remember the length.Since almost all of you did the repair of your regulator once or twice, I assume that you did measure the pin when the regulator parts are on top of the work table and knows what is the original length of the pin.

When you get back home you can measure your original and update your notebook and you will have the correct pin length.DA pin length did not change. The only changes in pin lengths is when you convert at Royal to use the new Conshelf Teflon seat or put together a Phoenix nozzle.

I am hoping that the previous owner of the regulator did not alter the pin length.I notice that the pin has a really pointy end is that normal? The second DA-Aquamaster of mine is still unopened and need to order a repair kit for the second one,still working on the first one.

Shortening the length would make it breathe worse and at ____ depth it could or would cut off supply air. If I remember correctly the pin length of an unbalanced pin is close to .357 or .355....Getting a copy of "Regulator Savvy" from Scuba Tools and reading it two dozen times cover to cover will make it much more clear...

For a DA, yes it usually is (somewhat) pointy, for a RAM, no is is not. Its very unlikely your regs was altered although we do at times find odd parts in them on occasion.

I got home last night and check the length of the pin, you are dead on .355 in.
I got everything assembled and hook the body to a 500 PSI tank...I set it up to 110 psi on the IP ...I am going to let it stay there for 2 day to see if the pressure will go up or down if everything is OK I will reassemble it this Saturday.
I just got my other DAAM ( I won at ebay) arrived yesterday, I will need another 2 kit again.

The IP is set too low for a 500 PSI tank. The 110 PSI has to be set with a tank at 2500 to 3000 psi. IP at 500 psi tank pressure should be between 130 and 135.

The IP will vary in about a 20 to 25 psi range from full to empty tank, there is no chart or other method to determine what the IP will be at a particular pressure. The reasoning for setting it at 300 to 500 psi tank pressure is that is the point where the IP will be the highest. If it doesn't free flow there it won't at at any other pressure
