Hey Jiguad! That's a nice looking DA Aqua Master you got... Looks to be in excellent shape. You'll surely have a lot of fun restoring it... And a lot of personal satisfaction, too. :D

Jiquad, have you considered starting a new topic for this regulator rebuild?

Hi there! I'm still alive! This is some of my knew items found these past months:

US DIVERS molded weight belt 3LB

US DIVERS 'Master' dive knife (unfortunately it missing the retain pommel strap)

And a mysterious harness. Possibly rigger made for USAF Pararescue jumpers? But I've never seen something like that. The strap came from an MA-2 harness used by USAF and Army's crew members. I've already seen something similar, a Navy weight harness used by the Deep Sea divers (as seen in several Navy diving manuals). But the mystery remain whole for me...

Hello everybody,
I'm very glad to share with you this tank set I've the opportunity to purchase a few weeks ago after the Bryan's announcement on Fb (thanks again Bryan!). The tanks landed home 2 weeks ago and this will complete my USN collection. It missed the Non Magnetic manifold that I hope to acquire one day.

I planned to restore it, but before considered such hard work, I need to find information about how it was originally paint and what was the precise paint used in the Navy in the 60's. I can see some relics of the original paint under the black one who help me to find the exact greenish/grey tone. I guess these aluminum tanks where anodized to capture the color pigment. If someone have knowledge about these tanks, it will be strongly appreciate!

I'm very surprised and disappointed, considering the number of people here, passionated by this subject to see nobody answer to this post and to my questions...

That being said, I've discuss with Captain about its paint work on his tank set. And I appreciate all the information he gives to me. Thanks!

I've found in a document - shared by Bryan in the Manuals & Catalogs section and in my forgotten archives since many months - the answer to the exact paint used by the Navy for these tanks. I will be glad to share on this forum, if someone is interested and in an appropriate post.
Cheers

Here is a snapshot of visitors since your post. I am sure many have enjoyed reading it and seeing the pictures but really had nothing to add so they did not leave any comments. I've seen it a couple of times and had nothing meaningful to add or useful comments so I didn't post anything.
There are other diving forums with individuals that comment at great length on every post made, rambling on and on and on trying to convince people they know what they are talking about when really they are only giving themselves handjobs. They delude themselves into a self centered world where they believe that simply by associating with someone they have the same knowledge, education and skills as that person.....For example, My sisters are nurses and I talked to them about nursing so I am qualified to speak on the subject of nursing..WRONG.....As another example, I have given first aid to many people in my lifetime so that makes me an EMT...
I do my best to keep things on here moving along and the conversation lively!
I would rather have no answer than the wrong answer. Keep posting relevant stuff and folks are sure to follow.

Thanks Bryan for this clarification. It was not an attack against you or other members of the forum, of course. I was just almost certain that some people here had very large knowledges about Navy SEALs/UDT divers. But perhaps I'm too demanding and perhaps I've misunderstands several posts here (English is definitively not my native language!), let me think some people well know this subject.

Whatever, the most important is that everybody found what he looking for here and I'm part of this audience! Bryan, what I'm certain is that you're a real regulator's EMT!
