Cool story. I was diving with a friend of mine in Long lake near Dundee Wisconsin. He found a wallet. It had a state I.D. and an insurance card in it. They both dated from about 1977. He gave to me after the dive. My wife looked at the I.D. and looked up the name in the phone book. She found a female name with the last name associated with the address. She called the number. It turned out to be the guys mother. I went there and gave her the wallet and it's contents. She looked at the I.D. and smiled. She said, "He doesn't have hair anymore and he's a lot heavier". LOL. She was obviously happy to get it back.
She then asked me if I wanted his scuba gear. What? She said it's been laying in her garage for 30 years and she just wanted to be rid of it. We went and looked at it. There was a nice steel 70 from 1955, a backpack and a Dacor Olympic 400 single hose reg. She wouldn't take any money for it, she wanted it gone. I was happy to help her out. That tank passed hydro and is one of my favorites to this day. I rebuilt the reg and use it on one of my pony set ups. Everyone walked away happy. You just never know!

Swimjim, that is an illustration of good karma. I found a credit card at a rope swing along with a lot of associated rope swing debris such as pot pipes, watches,necklaces, and other junk. I wanted to do a good deed and tracked down the cards owner. Seems the owner had laid the law down to his teenage daughter not to go to the river. Somebody got grounded but good when I returned the credit card and told Dad where I found it. The little gal was not happy with me...
