That's a nice shot. Would that be under the bridge?

You should never fly a kite when you're in the middle of a sardine storm... Just sayin.

Yes it is...and of course, it's where I'll be living if I don't stop buying stuff. :D

I think that Dale would be a lot of fun to sit around and swap stories with... He is funny!
Maybe he would like to join us in a tent-camp under the Blue Heron Bridge when we all get thrown out of our regular digs. :?

He does have quite a sense of humor, and probably a funny accent so he should be very entertaining.....

In fact, Canadians are the only people without an accent, all the rest of you have them

Living in a tent in Florida near a dive site doesn't really sound like a step down to me... I may have to try and get in my wifes "good books" so she will send me there.
Have you seen my plywood backplate yet? It would fit in very nice in a divers hobo camp.

Building your own Hawaiian pac is in the true spirit of Vintage Diving! Nice job.

A fair amount of divers seem to have resorted to do-it-yourself projects to get underwater in the 50's and 60's. I got started as a 11-12 year old by building a hookah rig from an old paint-spray compressor, a used lawnmower engine, new green plastic garden hose, plus a plastic pipe tee extending from hose with a snorkel mouthpiece. Used a cut-off balloon for an exhaling valve. I still love the smell of cheap plastic water hose... it conjures up happy memories of my first dives! Still like to make stuff too.

BTW, I admit to a Southern Accent.

You would love this book then by Ivor Howitt.
Image
It details some of the first civilian scuba diving in Scotland and Australia with such things as air pumps made from Bicycle pumps and shallow diving helments made from rubbish bins. If you look at the cover photo, Ivor has just gone spearfishing with a diving helmet.

What this all has to do with Lisa's air bubbles is beyond me but logic should never stand in the way of a good hi jack. I didn't want to put those last two words together in case big brother was monitoring...

Dale, you HAVE to start a new topic about this project!

Now where's that "like" button...

(sorry for the mini hi-jack, Lisa :D )

Those aren't sardines, they're bubbles from her manifold.

Now getting back to the subject...

Lisa, were you ever able to correct the leak?

Hi-Jack Away Fellas! I have absolutely no problem with it, and have actually instigated one or two back in the day..(mmm, 2 weeks ago).

Thank you, JES, I am going to dunk them in the pool and crank on it just a tad, but haven't had the chance, been working late a few nights. This is my weekend project since I won't be doing diving this weekend, but I probably will do some Living Room diving.

BTW Dale, I'm from GA so I can drum up a Southern accent anytime I need it, then drop it like a hot pertater (translation: potato). LOVE THE PLYWOOD BACKPLATE!!!

Aileron,

The bubbles can be a problem if you let your tank sit un-used. The tanks tend to be a bit empty when you reach the dive site. (I was told that they are a bit like a Harley and oil. As long as it leaks, don't worry. When a Harley stops leaking, it's because all or the oil is gone.)

The burst disc works with a combination of orifice size and disc thickness. Don't let just anyone change it. However, a little twist with a small wrench should do it, but don't force it. It's good to check all equipment for leaks and sone soapy water is the easiest way. Keep a plastic spray bottle of soapy water in your service kit and spray it on anything you work on. Steve
