I'm passing along the info the museum curator, and based on the fact that UDT/SEALs didn't use these as SOP gear, and based on Luis's history, they may not be appropriate, since EOD was a completely different "ballgame".

Which explains why the donor's info was just plain weird when he was telling the history of them.

Wow! Thanks everyone for the info!!!!

Well if you guys decide that they are not de rigueur for the museum, I would love to donate some money to the museum's coffers if you do not want those tanks. Hell, I'll even drive down and pick them up from you.

Ha, I think "young" Aileron isn't that young, and her close up vision is failing at the speed of light. And she can't type either.....

However, (thanks Drado for the bailout :D ) he's right, Herman's avatar is MIA.

In the end, it's still no excuse, and no, you guys don't all look alike, until you don your gear. At that point, you'll all be Mike...... Mike Nelson.

Ah, to be Mike for just a little while!
I thought Francie was going to swoon when we met "him" at a diving industry trade show many years ago. He was very attentive to her, but took no notice that I was there (I'm not sure she remembered I was there either).

Captain, been wanting to ask:

Is that paint or is that Galvilite?

I used zinc chromate primer and gray enamel which duplicates the original finish. Being the tanks are aluminum there is really no great need to use galvilite.
