Reproduction Labels

Fri Jan 28, 2011 3:40 am

I just baught 2 Mistral labels that bryan has in the store and these things are top notch. Is there any repro DA aqua master labels in the works any time soon? I'm interested in a couple.
Someone told me that diving a double hose reg will kill me. I had no idea these things were dangerous.

Hmm, if you think there is a market for them...I can maybe do something up. Particulars need to be known though: what address would you guys want on them? What material (stainless, plated brass, both)?

If we're gonna' dream, then let's dream BIG... I would love to buy a minimum of 3 Voit 50 Fathom reproductions. I would give a hundred dollars for 3 of them in stainless!

I would buy one DAAM label if it was in the 25-30 dollar range. I have no idea if that's appropriate or not so don't take offense if it isn't.
Material would depend on price I imagine. Early to mid 1960's address would be on my dream list but I could live with something other.
At least that's a starting point for discussion.

Hey Douchebag how much would it cost to make one DA label in blue with the West Pico Blvd address in stainless steel just for starters to see how they come out? I'm sure there are a lot of people out there with DA's that would like new repro labels.

Well, making one is not feasible from a time frame standpoint. Meaning, it's takes me just as long to do the stencils for one as it does 30. But, if somebody has a donor label with the correct address and correct color on it I can match font and color pretty good.

If this is something everybody is game for it can be done. But somebody's got to put up a good donor label. And no, the donor will not be destroyed or harmed in any way.

By the way Greg, all you got to do is get me a good donor label...

Ok so PM me a price for doing a run of 30 labels. If Greg can find a label and the price is right we may be good to go on a production run.

Guys, what font does the DAAM label use?

Being far away from the rest of you guys, I've had to come up with someone local to make my labels. I'm going to put this stainless label on the VDH explorer that I ordered. I wasn't sure what font to use, but the guys that did my label used a different one than the lay-out I sent them.

Aside from the font, the (R) emblem is missing after "Aqualung" and most importantly, the "N" in Gagnan is missing.

But you know what, I'm happy with them anyway :D

(but just in case I go for a 2nd run, I'll need to know the font and size)

The etched “Douche” labels are so good they could easily be seen as real even though they are (or can be) SS. Any thoughts on separating the definition of replacement vs counterfeit labels? Do you just reproduce the exact actual label with a blank area ready to stamp or do you leave off a trade mark stamp, or stamp serial numbers with a letter prefix?
Folks have listed Testor’s blue ink for DA labels. Has anyone looked into paint label color for:
Voit Green label
Voit Blue label
US Divers Red, green, black, yellow
