Cost of Nitrox fills in your area?

Wed Oct 13, 2010 8:01 pm

For those of you who dive it, what does it cost per fill in your area?

15 years ago it was 8 bucks at my stores and doubles were 12-15. We priced it out by the cubic feet used. Average now is what Karl said. Cost could vary and was dependant on whether we used aviators O2 or standard O2 which was cheaper. they would just certify that the bottles were vacuumed prior to fill and not dehumidfy them. We never used O2 for welding. Only difference I was told is that they did not vacuum welding cylinders prior to fill.

8 bucks per tank. If you buy a fill card it works out to 6.50 per tank, but you buy 10 up front.

When I had my store open, I charged $10 per fill and used medical grade O2

We charge $10 for a single fill of 32%, the price drops as low as $6.50 if you prepay 100 fills. We charge $15 for 36%.....it requires almost 50% more O2.

At $650.00 for a fill card that is quite an investment.

We fill tanks for other charter companies that do not own their own compressor. 10-14 tanks a day adds up fast. Our price on air fills is $2.25 if they buy them 200 in advance.

Same here in Virginia 15.00. I thaught about starting to fill my own but then I need oxgen storage bottles and a compressor and air storage bottles so it's just not worth it. At a price of 15.00 it is kinda reasonable. There is a shop her that fills Trimix as well and so anything out of there shop is expensive. Nitrox in any percentage up to 40% is 20.00 per tank and it doesn't matter the size of the tank either. I know there Trimix fills go for 150.00 per tank.
Someone told me that diving a double hose reg will kill me. I had no idea these things were dangerous.
