Vintage Equipment Divers C-Card

Sun Jan 08, 2006 12:13 pm

I decided to stop the nonsense so we could get on with the research into finding someone to make the cards for us.
Here is the look for the front and the back of the card as was voted on.
The cards will all have Master Diver as the level or grade. (your picture will be on it not mine!)

We need to get an close count on how many actually want one of these cards. That is the only way we can get a fixed price on having them produced. From what I know right now the cards should be in the $15.00 to $25.00 range.

Please just click on the poll that says YES I WANT A CARD if you are interested.

THIS IS NOT A CERTIFICATION CARD>>>>>>>>THIS IS NOT A CERTIFICATION CARD.......IT IS FOR FUN ONLY!!!!

Should this be anoounced on the vintagescubasupply.com forum? I suspect there are folks there that do not know of this effort who would want in on it?

Absolutely! Let Dan and Linda know about it and any other site that vintage divers hang out at....

I posted it on SB and in Roger's Yahoo group....one person has said he would like one so far and I don't believe he is a member here, so that makes one more :D

I gotta say..this is way too cool to pass up. THis card is a long time comming, and will do i believe wonders in stopping some of the harrassment that some charter operators give to thgose of us who refuse to use the plastic dive gear out there today, and who prefer to use the quality gear of yesteryear.

This card will be a boon to all vintage divers. and I anxuuiously await the verdict on when , where, how much so i can line up and put my order in.

There are some things in life that are just plain good, and right...this is one of em.

Since we only have 19 divers so far that are interested I say we move pretty quickly. If Jerry, Lisa and James want to present their findings on how we can get them done that would be great. After that we press on!

I think DBG40 also wants one from vintagescubasupply forum. Only one response from that site. I was sure that Dan would want one . Perhaps someone else should make a second post there. Perhpas they don't understand that we mean to do this very soon.

Lisa and I will work on it and I'll have it done locally here. As I proposed I will do the 1st batch for free. After that we will see if we can keep the cost low. Anyone that wants a card should E-mail me directly [email protected] with a photo they want to use on the card. Passport photos or photos that can be easily reduced in size to fit the back of the card would be best.

I will get this done as quickly as possible and unless there is some HUGE technical glitch everyone will recieve their card by February 28th.

Hope this meets with everyones approval.

Thats very kind of you bryan. I for one cant wait to see the finished product with my drop dead gorgeous mug on the back of the card.

TANSTAAFL. Could you provide a payment option for the card on your site. So those who want to contribute to the cost may do so.

I'm going to do the 1st 50 for free. I appreciate all the support you guys give me by buying parts and supplies. It's the least I can do to say thanks.

No payment neccessary but I really appreciate the offer!
