Here's a couple pics from yesterday...the vintage DA and jet fins work well together with the diverite plate and Viking drysuit...a combination of great gear (for me, anyway)

I always thought Jets were vintage acceptable for all but the purest vintage use since they have been around since 1963. Of course, that mask has to go and it needs to be on your forehead. No self respecting vintage diver photos himself otherwise .

It is fun to dive pure vintage but some circumstances--like diving in the winter in Alaska-- (or the USS Oriskany 24 miles from shore or me looking for Oasis Missouri in 120 feet of cold and dark water or like Luis in a drysuit in Maine in winter) is probably beyond the realm of possiblity in a completely vintage rig. You just gotta give a little sometimes . I thnk that is how the term "eclectic" came to be applied.

Yeah…that is what some of us call eclectic diving.

Most of my dives are with a double hose regulator and my Jet fins, but I do use an Atomic frameless mask (most of the time my black one) and a BC, etc.

Thanks Nemrod! The camera goes on every dive...now if that elephant seal would just show up...
I'm saving the MOF shot for the end of my first dive with my brand new spankin' Phoenix
Now if I can round up a nice oval mask like I used in my lake swimmin' daze!

Thanks for the pics-last time we were on the Big Island we dove with Jack's Dive Locker, had a real good time (10 years ago)
That warm blue water looks reeeeeal nice We're planning a trip back this summer when I can try out my eclectic gear including my Phoenix in water warmer than 42F.

Having had the opportunity to dive with both Roger & Lisa, I can personally attest that what Bryan says about them is absoultely true! Lisa & Roger are an awesome couple and great divers/guides.

Yes, Roger was the coolest and had a diff vintage reg for each dive. Lisa was the Octopuss tamer. She found tons of Octopi for Barb, Bryan, and I to play with. Look at the pics!!!!

Or if you are on the Big Island, you can dive with us at Sandwich Isle Divers, no problem using your Phoenix or if I am on the boat, any other double hose.
