I appear to have an ingenous solution to a nonexistant proablem, my bad.
I have not had a problem getting mine filled but many of those old valves had the lead plug safety on them, which aren't legal. I just replace mine with a burst disc safety and am OK.

Thanks for the info on White Stag. I have often wondered what ever happened to them. When I first learned to dive the LDS carried White Stag DEEP gear, but I never used any of it.
Nowadays I'm using a White Stag DEEP facemask quite a bit, and it seals better than any others I've ever used. Too bad they never had a double hose though..

Older, steel, 38 cf SCBA tanks and some aluminum oxygen tanks have the 1/2 inch NPS, O ring. I suppose the SCBA tanks, which can be had for 10 bucks, would make a nice set of doubles. Not galvanized, though.

The 38s with the straight pipe thread were products of Sportsways.

valves and parts are very difficult to find.

Avoid!!!

White Stag Twin Tank Valves & Twin Oxygen Tanks

Sat Jan 12, 2008 1:12 am

I have 4 complete sets of these older Totally Round Bottom Twin Steel Tanks, ( I beleive these were the Oxygen tanks ) and they have the White Stag 1/2 inch Straight Twin Tank Valve Assemblies with O-Ring Seals on them all. I already had 2 sets tumble cleaned and Hydro Tested and the Visual inspections were done, all witout a problem. With the very round bottoms, they have the very Old look to them, but the valves do stick Up very High above the tanks. I have purchased many of the twin tank White Stag Valve Assemblies that are New Old Stock and I was only charged like $50 for each set. They even gave me several used ones for free that are in excellent condition, so I do beleive the ones on eBay are Very overpriced. Those are in poor condition too.

I have a White Stag NOS double 21/2'' manifold that I purchased some time ago assuming it was a tapered thread. When I get home this weekend I will post some pictures. I purchased it because it also has a high pressure port.

White Stag Manifold

I traded my White Stag Catalog to help get the Nemrod Dreadnaught Speargun trade finally ok-ed, but I did make a nice copy before I mailed her off. It is very surpriseing how attractive White Stag made all their products. They have kind of a Mach-O look to me. It is a shame they did not make a Double Hose. Even a Re-Label would have been nice. In fact, I think I might re-label one double hose to a White Stag any-way. Except for you men, who will ever know, or even care as long as the "White Stag"double hose looks very good,ha,ha.
