Can anyone help date an early french reg?

Sun Sep 09, 2007 4:00 pm

Hi,

I picked up a La Spirotechnique with a Rue Cognac can. It only has 3 digits in the serial number (255) and am wondering what year it was produced. I read on the French Frogman site that the can address for La Spirotechnique can give you an idea on the age much like on US Divers:

(http://frogmanmuseum.free.fr/html/deten ... iquefr.htm)

* Rue Cognac Jay, Paris VII - jusqu’en 1956
* Rue Trébois, Levallois( Seine) - jusqu’en ??? (mais au moins 1962)
* Rue Marius Aufan Levallois (92).

Can anyone suggest a source of information on dating this and other French regs?

You'll need to try posting your picture again. I tried to fix this for you but your post didn't even have a link to your image. :(

Or you could.....

Please contact the Board Administrator if you have questions

E-mail JES the photo information so he could help....

Use Photobucket or a similar service and post all the photos you want no matter what size they are...
Doing it right should include some common sense, not just blindly following specs and instructions. .Gary D, AWAP on SB

Hi,

Thanks for the link. I knew the address change was in 1956 but the link points out the Mistral started in 1955. With a serial number of 255 I am thinking I have a first year 1955 Mistral. Cool.
