I and I feel certain that many others have referred to the US Divers regulators with that nomenclature many times---only I think we spelled it DAMN!

Oh, boy! Am I going to have fun with this one!
On another thread entitled "worthy causes" (thought they don't specify to WHICH DA they are referring) it sounds like Bryan and treasureman, to some worthy soul, will give a DAAM!

This, and the fact that I could not find any evidence that the clips had ever been removed, has led me to suspect that it had never been serviced. If this is true, then this reg must have come from the factory having 6 clips.
I stand corrected. I contacted the gentleman from whom I purchased the W. Pico DAAM to ask him if the regulator had ever been opened, and if he knew if it may have had 7 clips originally. He told me that it had never been opened before he opened it to take a look inside just before he sold it to me, and that he thinks that he did lose one of the clips and was unable to find it.
So, it appears, U.S. Divers WAS using 7 clips in 1958-60 on their DAAM regulators.
