I spent a year in Connecticut when I was in the Navy. There used to be (don't know if it's still there) a dive shop right outside the submarine base in Groton. Can't even remember the shop's name now (that was about 24 years ago).
One day they had an "attic" sale, and had several NIB Dacor R-4 regs on the sale table. Still in their original boxes with warranty cards. They wanted $50 each for them
I bought one, but wish now I'd bought one or two more. Oh well. Tried it out on a beach dive up there, but it didn't breathe very well. Not surprising since it had sat on a shelf for 20+ years even then. Still have it after all this time, although sadly I threw the box and warranty card away when I got it.
But back in '83 who knew people would be going crazy over the things 25 years later? There's a pic of the Dacor in my gallery. I guess I need to send it to Bryan to finally get serviced..
