Yep, it's me. I'm the "lucky" owner of this regulator. Got burned but good. Only the second time ever on eBay; guess I've been lucky until now. But it looked oh so good; still in its original box, plastic wrap, etc.
Contacted the seller, and he claimed to have bought it on good faith from the original owner, and didn't know a "switch" had been made.
I don't know anything about regulator internals; good thing I had already decided to have it converted to a Phoenix and sent it to Bryan, or I'd never have known.
A good lesson learned, although I'd never have thought anyone would swap out the internal parts of a regulator before selling it. The eBay seller has since contacted me again, and offered to refund a portion of the purchase price. Oh well. One thing's for sure, with what I've got in this reg now, I'll have to dive it every single time from here on out to get my moneys worth...
