RAM wreck dive video

Fri Apr 06, 2012 12:21 am

A friend of mine took this video and posted it on vimeo (link below). His video lights are close to 10,000 lumens. The wreck is an old ferry named Bellubra about 2km off Sydney beaches and in about 160ft. The RAM worked great although I have it positioned up a bit too high. I have a Y block fitted to the hookah port for an inflator and octy. Rgds. Phil

I don't know, it has the fish eye effect. Nice video.

That right Alan, its not a GRoPro, its a top of the line Canon ( I don't know the model). I forgot to include that I was using the VDH backplate with an 18lb Zeagle wing. Nice and comfortable and my go to when using a wetsuit. Dale the fish eye effect occurred inside the wreck. I think that had something to do with using a very wide lense set up for a close up shot.

Almost all wide angle 10-15mm lenses exhibit what is called "fish-eye". But unless you are shooting something with straight lines (ship wreck walls, etc.) you do not notice the curved image. Great HD and lighting. 10,000 lumens is nice. Thanks for a nice video.
