Had a great time with Scuba Heritage Days. Friday a pre-weekend vintage dive, or three at Gilboa with SeaHunt Jerry, his friend Chuck, Terry Stevens, Big Mike, Greg Barlow, Roger "Robohips", Dan, Rob and Bryan, then off to El Zarape for great Mexican. Vis was very good, easily 40'.
Saturday: White Star was wet both above and below the quarry, but between Rich C. and Jerry S. there was some nice vintage gear to be had. Rich and an unused Fenzy that held air and looked like it had been in dry storage for the last forty five years , and Jerry had a Voit Trieste J, nice stuff. Besides attendance by the usual suspects from Friday, WS also welcomed a new forum member, Mark. Dale dropped by with an unusual story of the loss and recovery of his dive equipment. Vis was exceptional for a September day at White Star, especially the far side by the beach. Rain came cold and hard though, morning and afternoon.
Sunday: I stayed an hour south of White Star (Homecoming weekend at Bowling Green State University = hotel rooms booked for miles around), so a few of us who were heading south went to Gilboa again rather than heading up to White Star. Weather was 100% improved over Saturday, but with all of the student divers, visibility wasn't what it had been on Friday, but the far end of the quarry still held some decent vis.
I made eight dives over the three days, used the Kraken and a couple of 50 Fathoms.
Thanks for all attendees who showed.
