I'll be interested in at least 1 diapham. $50 range would be good. Have you got verbal orders for 100 units yet? Of course you still need to make something. Plus I'm sure that 5k will turn into 6+ before it's all done.

I don't care for verbal orders....Too confusing for me to keep track of!! I'll just make them and put them up for sale and see what happens. I hope this does not offend anyone but the project will have some profit built into it for sure. Without a profit I cannot afford to keep producing new items.

I got the sample silicone diaphragm that Ryan did....Super soft and very flexible. I will do a bench test and post the results over the weekend. next week I'll dive in the gulf with it in my RAM.

I was only joking about the verbal orders. They are kind of like verbal contracts....not worth the paper they're not written on. I was only hoping you saw enough interest to continue with the project.

Without people like you & sure the vintage double era would be nothing nothing more than some nice non-working display units. I know mine wouldn't be working without the parts I ordered form you, and without the help from people on this forum.

This is not a scientific test by any stretch…..I took the sample silicone diaphragm and compared it to several other diaphragms in my RAM that I’m diving in the gulf next week. According to the magnehelic gauge the cracking effort is better than or as good as ANY of the diaphragms I have. Somewhere around .8 to 1.2 inches WC…. Including brand new military issue diaphragms. The silicone reproductions should be a landslide in performance for everyone!!

The ink is dry..... The coin has exchanged hands....The die is being cast in the next few days and I should have a few pre-production samples in the next 14 days.....

Now I'm off to visit Tom in the beautiful state of Louisiana!

Bryan,

Some dacor pacer 900 series of second stages used a blue colored silicon diaphram. (I just bought a XLE and it had one in it). Wondered what type of material they are made of? seems more durable than rubber or clear silicon ... wonder how that material would work?

Scubapro and Mares had some blue color diaphragms too if I remember correctly. I don't know if the compound was different or not? The company that is making the diaphragms specializes in making silicone parts for medical equipment. They can make the diaphragms any color.....I talked it over with Luis and he thought just the natural silicone color would be good enough though....

Will these diagpragms be complete with the metal center? If not, what adhesive do we use to attach them?

I guess Aquaseal would do.
Diving like back when toilets used to really flush, styrofoam was non-existant in a car, and seltzer water wasn't so damn expensive.
