Hello all, Norcal, SFBay diver checking in. I am the salvage diver, rescue swimmer on Vessel Assist Angel Island, currently stationed in SF. I also spearfish all over CA and ab dive the north coast. I currently live aboard my Gulf32' sailboat at anchor near Sausalito, in Richardson's Bay.
I dive a PRAM, conshelfxiv, seII, all dove on a freedom plate, w/18 oxycheq extreme wing HP steel 80 single.
I do alot of hull maintenance/rope in prop/mooring maintenance surface supply at which time I breath off a keene 263 compressor and reserve tank I run off shore power or my honda eu2000. For the deeper surface supply dives I use the same FreedomPlate and a upsidedown aluminum 50 for my bailout.
I am a 100' freediver with a 2:00 round trip time. In monterey cold water.

Very interested in trying some urchin diving if you all know anyone that needs a diver. Permits require you to have some diving experience on someone elses boat first as a walk on diver under their permit.

Very interested in learning more about vintage gear. I have gone very minimalist retro lately, and it has got me back into scuba after 8yrs of freediving.
Now that I am doing more work under water and I have a PRAM I am very curious how to hook up the double hose to the hookah port, I have seen some vintage pics of cave divers with the special Kvalve interrupter plate and think I may have to get a dedicated hookah only double hose reg for work. I want to remove the bubbles from my vision, and breath surface supply through my double hose.
What ip would be the least a double hose would want to see at the hookah port? Can it be turned down to < 70-90 psi, this is where my compressor runs.
I have jaw fatigue and want to use my double hose for work, on surface supply.
I am aware that there is a replica harness available here also.
Can someone help me locate a hookah block off kvalve eliminator thingy?

Thanks, and I am sure I would not have been near as enthusiastic to come back to bubbles if it weren't for vintage gear and vintage gear enthusiasts. Modern scuba is in a state of confusion, all plastic and not work worthy.

Welcome to the board Matt, you will find a good many of the "normal" vintage bunch...if you can use that term for us.... from SB are here as well.

Welcome Matt. I spent most of my life living & diving the north coast, born & raised in Santa Rosa, CA. I miss the diving up there, especially Ab diving. The maker of the Freedom plate, Eric Sedletsky, is in Santa Rosa and very much into vintage. You guys should hook up.

Welcome aboard! Monterey is a pretty place. I spent a little time around there and Point Sur about 30 years back. Some day I will return for a visit.

Yes I met Eric when I picked up my Freedom Plate, which has now become my go-to dive rig for everything single tank related.
