Sorry about the late entry...I just got home from a 13 hour day. In fact, I worked 27 hours over the last two days.
The Trieste II was not illustrated in any Voit catalogs that I have in my possession. Nor, do I recall any such literature back when I started diving with Voit gear around 1971. I corresponded with two former Voit employees back in 1999, and one of the white collars seemed to remember that they were basically units that were rebadged and sold around 1970-1971 to use up the supply of Trieste (I) parts. I suspect that this is probably true. The curved mouthpiece was used on the II, but one must remember that Voit was a producer of rubber parts for USD. The die modification to signify AMF Voit rather than the USD insignia would have been simple.
I really like the whole concept of the Trieste reg. However, I will readily admit that it is tough to correctly adjust the second stage.
Had Voit used the larger cans and diaphragm with the design, it would have been an even better design. The small diaphragm and lever geometry made it tough to get much mechanical advantage out of the system.
Even so, Voit had a real neat idea in using the same body for a double hose and single hose reg (Titan). The addition of the reserve mechanism was also a plus.
As far as timeline goes, the Trieste was first introduced in the 1966 catalog and was last listed in 1970.
