Re: New DSV Mouthpiece Coming soon!

Things are really sounding great for the new DSV and our Kraken's. I can't wait till they are available. One of my Kraken and one each for my PRAM and DAAM. talk about a great idea for double hoses. The new DSV will also allow for use of my Com Mask 1 and all my double hoses.

First mold samples of the new DSV. I don't think we are quite ready for prime time yet but we are close. These are off to Luis for evaluation and one is headed to Bonaire with Herman.ImageImage

Proto types look good. Hope testing and evaluation come together. What is the small annulus under the mouth piece position? Is that for the future chin rest? :?:

You are probably referring to the vent hole under the mouthpiece. You can blow the mouthpiece dry before you open the DSV. That allows you to get rid of the little amount of water inside the mouthpiece bite, which lets you keep the hose-loop very dry.

The first production samples were close but no cigar.......There are some tolerance issues that will require a modification to the mold so I may not make the March deadline as I expected. Luis and I gave them some direction after considering their suggestions and more samples will be made as soon as the mold can be modified. Please stay tuned here for details and updates as I get them. Thanks for your patience.

I'm foaming at the mouth in anticipation of the DSV's imminent release.

Will that be a problem with dry breathing?

New samples are shipping on Thursday but I won't have much chance to do anything with them till we all get back from Silver Springs next week. I will update here and FB after Luis and I have had the opportunity to look over the new samples. Keep your fingers crossed! Thanks for your patience.

A little update on the DSV....Luis and I were talking yesterday and decided that in many ways making this mouthpiece is more frustrating and difficult than getting the main body of the Argonaut the way we wanted it.
2nd samples show much improvement but are not exactly what we want in a finished product. Luis is putting his critique to paper so we can supply the mfg with a course of direction. Thanks to everyone for your patience. I can see light at the end of the tunnel....It might be a small light but it's there!

The DSV mouthpiece is proving to me harder to make than the Argonaut was......Luis and I have rejected both molded samples for various reasons and the manufacture is now going to CNC the finish work on them and hopefully we will have a winner. This will increase my per piece cost by a great deal but if it's what we need to do to make it right then so be it.

Unfortunately I will be unable to deliver the DSV mouthpieces with the advanced orders of the Argonauts in a couple of weeks. I am sorry for the delay and will ship the mouthpieces to the new Argonaut owners as soon as they get the green light......Regulators will ship with a curved USD mouthpiece so you can go diving while you wait.

Thanks again for you patience and if you have any questions please E-mail me. [email protected]

After satisfying the DSV Project Backers and the Kraken 2016 orders, when do you anticipate additional units for sale?

I'd like to obtain one for another DH I now have....

Thanks,

Bob

I'd hate to venture a guess at the moment but will update here as soon as I have anything newsworthy.
