To boot or not to boot?

Tue May 13, 2014 2:56 pm

I picked up a pair of new aluminum 50's (6.9" diameter) for a set of doubles. I have my USD solid bar mainfold, "peanut King" bands and custom harness from Allen. Should I put tank boots on them? I have read several pros and cons about tank boots so I figured that I would seek the wisdom of the VDH forum. Thanks, Mike

Other than to protect boats, floor, etc they are not needed. Boots are only handy on round bottom tanks to allow standing them up.

If I cannot overhead don it, like a set of doubles, I prefer boots. A single 72, either way is fine.

Looking forward to getting wet soon. Thanks for the forum help in making my new set a reality. I love my "BigMike" sized harness from Allen!
