Hey Folks,
I have acquired a Dual Air that is in excellent shape. I have replaced the 1st stage diaphragm using one of Bryan's USD silicon ones. I carefully bored a center hole through it and reassembled the reg after thorough cleaning. It operates like new now. Does anyone know what the IP pressure range is for it? It being an unbalanced reg, I thought it might be similar to a DAAM, but I'm unsure. I will hopefully get a NOS 2nd stage diaphragm from the scuba museum if they still have any left.

While working on this gem (a Sportways Waterlung "Dual Air" their first DH reg) I got a good education as to alternate universes of design. The "Dual Air" it appears is a up stream non-balanced 1st stage, upstream tilt valve 2nd stage regulator with overpressure valve that REALLY WORKS! Here is what I observed when setting IP. The overpressure needs to be checked because of the UPSTREAM 2nd stage tilt valve.
Starting with two tanks, one at approximately 3000psi and another at approximately 700-800 psi. I set the IP the same way as you would a DAAM. As a check, set IP at the higher pressure end of the spectrum to wit, 140-160 with a tank pressure of 3000psi, you will cause the overpressure valve to release.
This regulator must be set just the same as a DAAM way when adjusting for IP, that is set IP at approximately 140-145 using a 700 psi tank. It will breath fine. Take the reg off and place it on a 3000psi tank and IP will read approximately 100-110.Go back and forth between both tanks with the reg a few times for tweaking purposes. It breaths fine in high pressure as well as low. Adjust 2nd stage tilt valve by gently bending (Not Breaking) it until it is lightly flush with the 2nd stage diaphragm. Remember, we are talking about the DUAL AIR which was Sportways initial DH made after they were making single hose regs for some time. I'll get pictures as soon as I can.

Russ, would you be willing to throw up a few pictures of how you did this? There isn't a lot of SW stuff on here, and there are some of us who would like to learn a bit more

I really enjoyed the video. The Waterlung is a regulator that I've never had my mitts on and I've always been curious on how it was put together. Your video answered a lot of questions for me and I do really appreciate you taking the time to put it together.
A couple comments on the production from a guy who's really been down that road. I enjoyed your choice in music, however that was copy written stuff. As your doing something not for profit, it's probably not an issue, but I avoid copy written material like the plague just in case. Here is a website where you can easily find decent stuff, Royalty free, and FREE. I like free. Ha. http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/ . Also when doing your shots close up, use a tripod. This will eliminate a lot of unneeded shake which can be distracting. Overall however, I think you did a great job on the video and I look forward to part two!
