"Bat Wing" back-pack

Thu Apr 27, 2006 1:51 pm

Hi this is what we called the "Bat Wing" back-pack ,long, long ago when I was young. It was designed so the entire Tank & Decal would be Visible Without a Tank Band on it. I wanted one but by the time I was ready they were Gone for good, ha, ha. I really would like to hear Any Information about this Type back pack, like manufacturer, year made, Problems with it, how many and how long made. Just any facts would be great to hear. Thanks guys. :P William

I do not know the name but I like the "futuristic" design of the thing. Clearly designed to facilitate rapid tank changes unlike many early scuba packs.

Aloha William
Don't know the manufacturer or date, but I figure its from the late 50's
Mine came with a USD 1959 tank in it. Got it off E-bay, so no history.
One place to look might be the Old 1950's Skin Diver Ads.
I hope you find the information, so I will know where mine came from too.
