Conshelf, Sea Lab, and Comex - Abbreviated

- I found a neat website called Jake's Rolex World in which he goes thru the development of Rolex Submariner and then Sea Dweller as they were involved with Conshelf, Sea Lab, and Comex.

- That'll get you to Chapter 1. Additional chapters are at the end of each page/story. There are 5 chapters altogether. Interesting that Conshelf is credited to Dr. George Bond for giving Cousteau the idea. (chapter 2)
- Cousteau's Conshelf I, II, and III were cautious, gradual, increases in depth... Finishing with Conshelf III at 400 feet. Sea Lab went right to 200 feet on Sea Lab I and II, then all the way to 600 feet on the ill fated Sea Lab III. Comex eventually set records over 2000 ft.

Before Sealab, Dr. Bond did a lot of testing during the Genesis experiments. There was a lot of animal and volunteer divers involved in the experiments.

The original scientific research on saturation diving was done by Dr. Bond and his Navy colleges.

There are several great books about Sealab and Dr. Bond. I will add a list of books later, but some that come to mind are: Papa Topside (by Dr. Bond), Sea Dwellers (by Bob Barth), and the new book Sealab... (I can't remember the complete name).
