Regulator Ident and IP Question

Tue Feb 19, 2013 10:15 pm

I bought a regulator from EBAY with no name plate. It is the riveted type, dull finsh on the cans, and has the removable exhaust port. I believe it could be a DA Navy approved but unsure. The horshoe has 2 springs unlike the DA Aquamaster. Upon disassembly, looks vary similar to the DA Aquamaster as far as replacement parts. I can not loosen the IP nozzle, have sprayed with PB Blast. Looks to take a 5/16" wrench, but does not budge? any suggestions?

You have a early model Trademark/Broxton/DA Navy Approved horseshoe 2nd stage regulator....Pictures would help ID it better. Regulator ID Guide on the main page says a lot.....Parts breakdown and repair manual for it is in the download section on the main page and every thing you could ever want to know about the early regulators is available in Phil Nuyttens paper on the subject available in the store.....CLICK HERE

It would help to see both sides...Castings varied and it would help get the year closer.....Since the lever and HP adjustment are not plated it lends itself to an earlier production regulator. Not a great breather no matter what you do to it but a nice piece of SCUBA history.

Here is the back side of subject regulator. I believe the yoke may not be original.
