Mouthpiece Ideas

Sat Nov 17, 2012 9:45 am

So I'm going through some dental work and right now my bite isn't quite as it has been. I noticed yesterday that I kept getting gulps of water in by my lower lip and that started getting old. I'm using the USD / curved/ silicone mouthpiece.

It's probably exacerbated by hose tension now that I have the can down on my back where it belongs but I didn't notice this problem until the dentist got in there.

Short of finding an old Hope-Paige and rigging for the small ports does anyone else have experience trying to get a long bite mouthpiece on a DH?

Ideas?

Thanks,
Pete

Pete, I find the older straight Aqualung mouthpiece, with the larger bite tabs, to be more comfortable to my particular bite pattern. You can also make a lot of difference in how either one feels by experimenting with rotating the mp to different positions. That can change whether it pulls up or down or is neutral in your mouth.
The older I get the better I was.

I am the other way, I much prefer the Voit hourglass to any of the USD mouthpieces. The straight ones are way to big for my mouth, the curved ones are better and the Voit is way above the curved for me anyway.
Last I heard Bryan was working on a new mouthpiece for the DHs that is in line with the Hope Page design. In the long run that might be the answer.
