Nice photos Bernie!

I've got to believe your Mom took that last one. That's a face a teen-aged boy makes when Mom says "hold still Bernie, just one more to show to Aunt Lulu at Christmas... Oh you look like such a... Grandma's not going to believe it..."

I've got a few of those.... of course, I'm in my marching band uniform.... but I look nearly as manly...

Thanks for sharing them.

Freddo,
As I remember,I had just waded/swam across the northern end of Greenwood Lake(which lays between the states of New York and New Jersey) while my "buddies"drove around the lake. So thats my pissed off expression as they welcomed me near Chapel Island.

Great photos, and interesting stories behind them! Thanks for posting! :D

Bernie, could you give us a quick overview of each one? I'm especially curious about the endurance dive above.

Well... I was very close... :?

The "ay, ya friggin’ peckers!" face, can be, and often is, easily confused with the "Mom, enough already!" face.
It's a real problem in the American Sign Language community.

That top one looks like you brought the whole dive shop. Quite a selection. Some nice big trips. in the foreground, some doubles and basket-harnesed singles off to the right.

The ice-dive picture is a hoot... somewhere between an early Jacques Cousteau… and Jack Nicholson in the Shining  Would be fun to hear the before and after from that shot as well.

Bernie,

Do you still dive? Can you tell us about the endurance dive? How long were you down?

+1 Yes, please tell us more. I would really enjoy reading about that dive.

This is a photobucket link to a scan of some info about Bernie and the Endurance Dive....I did not want to re-size it for the site cause it would be hard to read. Bernie is going to get us some more manageable sizes next week.

Mr. Campoli,

Would you mind if I framed a copy of the picture of you with the hatchet on the ice? That would look great in my dive shed.

Respectfully,

Dave

I see the first picture at Hamburg quarry located in Hamburg, NJ. My family lived in Lanoka Harbor in the 1970's. One of the first dives I did legally certified was at this quarry in Hamburg. After looking at an old log book the dive was near dusk and it got dark during the dive plus started snowing. Earlier that day we were at Shark river inlet on a dive. Thanks for pictures. I do not know of a Handsberg quarry but I am pretty sure thats the Hamburg quarry.
