Military NON mag tanks 90 cf

Fri Mar 03, 2006 7:18 pm

What is the value on a 90cf military tank. I think they are made of Magnesium and are 90cf with a plug in the bottom. I have a friend that wants to part with one or 2 of the 6 he has? I know nothing about them..

They were originially designed by US Divers personel for military use.
* they were made by PST or WK-cant't recall
* they are generally "light greenish" color
* they are anadized aluminum
* the were not approved by ICC or DOT
* "Hawaiian Hydros" could be performed for ICC
* need private compressor to fill them
* they are 90 cuft
* the plug was a result of the manufacturing technology of the era.
* after continued usage the plug became a leak path
* they were surplused by the USN- in late 1950s-early 1960s
* they were sold on the civilian market
* I purchased several new ones from Industral Analyis in Fullerton
* A friend was bent using them in December 1960 @ Farnsworth
* Ron Miller has some in his display
* Value? historical display or boat anchor
