Final Vote....Look of the new card

Sun Dec 25, 2005 1:07 pm

Please choose one of the ideas below that you like best for the front of our new card......I think the back of the card is a no brainer.....And I think we should all title ourselves Master Divers.....

Should my "wonderful" (6) drawing really count as an option?

I voted for number one but I think I prefer number two now--sorry about that. I also like the idea of just titling all of us as Master Divers, it simplifies all that deciding who gets to be what. Either that or as on card number one it is titled with your highest cert rating from whomever and your picture. I suppose all that could go on the back of card number two or along the bottom of card number two or overlayed.
I have also been brainwashed into the NAVED. In the end I just like the way it describes what it is we do better than the other choices it seems to me and also we can say it as Nav-Ed just like we pronounce NAUI as Now-ee. What is in a name?--sometimes everything.

I will throw in fifty dollars to help this happen. I think Bryan pledged some money as well. To help with setup and expense.

Lisa, I still like the SkinDiver, lol, had he been on that blue card with the motion lines and NAVED above him curved to fit in the space it would have been a dynamic card. BUT, I like numbers two and one just as much. They are all very nice. On number one where Bryan's pic is that would be YOUR picture correct? Anyways, number two seems to be winning and it will be a nicecard. Let's all get behind the winner and make it happen.

OK, I know people are getting polled out but perhaps there should be a poll on the title we give ourselves. Shoiuld we all be Instructors, Master Divers or use our current highest certification level from what ever organization it comes from or Vintage Equipment Diver---or something else or even not have any title?

Well, I got to go burn some brush and clean up the vehicles aftr all the snow.

Unless a bunch of people whine I think Master Diver should go on all the cards....Makes it simple to print and it's a good title without being a professor or suggesting to anyone that you are in anyway certified to "teach" some type of diving

My picture is only on the demo card cause Lisa did my avatar.....Your picture would go on your own card.....Lord knows no one want's my ugly mug on theirs!!!

James I meant that I would put up the 1st $150.00 if there were art or setup charges. I thank you very much for helping out. But I think each diver should pay for their own card!

Yes, each card would have a picture of the holder on the back side.

a couple more things, and I hope that I am not making it hard...if you look at card #4, I added movement lines and bent the fins as well ....Since everybody wanted it too look less stiff. I can easily swap that text/drawing out with the one on card #2

As for card one...I can do different color combos...just show me what color you would like ( not just the name as everyone sees and names colors differetn).

I hate to tell y'all this but Lisa just sent me a card with the Skin Diver on it, the card is deep bluish purple with 3D NAVED in black and white and it is knock your socks off. She is almost a pro at this--lol. Anyways, I would put it on here just as an "I told you so" but I better not without her permission since it is really her design. I printed the thing out on photo paper in a size appoximating my paper NAUI card and holy cow it looks good. Anyways, I think it is the scuba diver on the blue card that is winning and I will be proud to carry it.

Lisa, please send me the latest version of what James wants. Lord knows he has only changed his mind 4 other times on this subject....

I am taking away the poll on this subject until FRIDAY DECEMBER 30th. In case there are any more ideas to submit. At that time we will do a FINAL vote. After that make your own card.

Ok now the tie breaker I like two and three. I lean towards three, because iot shows the gear in action. I like two because it shows the gear we use. If i had to chose, I would go three.

yes thats it. I would go three for sure...i think

Three is it, the number aftewr two and before the number 4.

I like three alot. the rest i can fogedabout.

Three right?

I think the black and yellow (gold) colors represent vintage divers the best. I really like the looks of yellow hoses with a black mouthpiece.

I like number 3 not just because of the colors, but the black and white picture gives it a bit of a retro look. The picture highlights the gear in use and the diver could be almost anyone.

I do like the picture on number 2. It just seam as in our card it should have more of a retro look, as in a black & white picture.

I would like to suggest that instead of “Member since:” we use something like “SCUBA Diving since:”
