hose solution

Fri Dec 02, 2005 11:29 am

with doublke hoses ther is a 1.5 inch end and a 1 inch end. why niot make an adapter that fits on the mouthpice and reduces the need for a 1.5 inch opening on the hose. This way one needs only one inch on one end, one inch on the other end. It would mean anextra clamp or cable tie, but it may provide us with a more readily available and less expensive solution to hoses

Just my two cents worth

I suspect the cost of the solution would defeat the effort? Plus it would possibly be VERY ugly. I for one like my regs to at least look orig and correct whenever I can.
Don't be worried. I bet that one of the posters on this great forum will be making hoses with wonderful seams in all the colours we want and for a good price soon enough. Don't laugh, I know I would never believe that BANJOS and CLAMP RINGS would be reproduced, but here they are at good prices from 2 really great guys. I know Bryan is up to all kinds of neat stuff and he will not sell or make junk. Perhaps we can twist his arm into making some hoses
I personally would like the new hoses (when ever they are made) to be made a little longer than the orig hoses, but what do I know!

LaSpirotechnique mouthpieces on the late model Royal Mistrals were exactly as you describe and used longer accordian hoses that were 1" on both ends. Their mouthpiece assembly was 110% superior to the USD design in my opinion.

Until I get a backer with deep pockets I have NO plans on making hoses.

Doing it right should include some common sense, not just blindly following specs and instructions. .Gary D, AWAP on SB

What's the chance someone has one of these available? I'm looking at bidding on a MEDI reg in Germany Ebay just for the mouthpiece on it. If I could find one of the Royal Mistral MP that would be even better.

Right now I'm just looking around for a mouth piece assembly. I can't afford a whole regulator right now.
