Hoses for Mistral

Sun Nov 02, 2008 1:29 am

My W. Pico Mistral came from the factory with yellow hoses. What about the later West Warner Mistral, did it have yellow hoses and a straight mouthpiece? I got a black powder coated W. Warner Mistral from a man that Bryan built. Its a real beauty. I wanted to at least get the hoses right on it......Thanks for y'alls help.

US Divers moved from W. Pico to West Delhi Rd (Ave) in 1960. Also in that year the Mistral has yellow hoses with black mouthpiece with black nylon clamps. In 1962 West Delhi Rd had a name change to West Warner Avenue, but the actual physical facility did not relocate. In 1963 the Mistral used black hoses and black curved mouthpiece. I an not sure if the Mistral had a W. Delhi label as I have never seen one. DAs were marked as W. Delhi however. So, if you have a West Warner Ave regulator, either yellow/ straight black or black/curved black would be correct, seeing as how we do not know the timeline based on serial numbers.

Thanks for the info Allan. I can go either way with hoses for WW Mistral then. The black powder coat is a high gloss and the more I look at it the more I like it. The label is unpainted. I will probably go ahead and paint the label yellow. The last time I painted a label for a DA it was beautiful but then I broke the tabs putting it back on. Label will stay on this one when I paint it. It had crossed my mind to commit complete blasphemy and paint the label green and put on green hoses!!

You'll be a happier camper if you paint the label off the cans. I use a thin putty knife to bend the tabs up. After around ten regs I have only lost one tab. I reaffixed that one with a little Aquaseal. You'd never know the difference unless you open the cans.
