At least one my LDS checks and often re-tunes brand new regulators before they leave the shop. The shop I am thinking of is a Scubapro dealer and several others, but not Aqua Lung.Nemrod wrote:I cannot answer that question but I have a suspicion that Aqua Lung is sending their regulators in a detuned state for some reason. That plastic fantasitc unLegendary I purchased breathed like I was sucking marbles through a straw. I took it back and told the place I bought it from to either make it breath properly or give me my money back or a new one. He got me a new one and it did the same thing. At this point I told him to find out what was wrong. He kept it and a few days later I picked it up and now it breaths more like I expected it to. Unfortunately he was out of town, the shop owner, so I do not know what he did. I did give him a stern warning not to touch it with pliers or hammers and apparently he took that to heart. I suspect the IP was way to low at leastt in part. Maybe this is why the new Mistral I used also breathed like an old worn out Healthways. Maybe.

You better watch out or you will get banned from the Florida Springs and your local LDS....Nemrod wrote: I did give him a stern warning not to touch it with pliers or hammers and apparently he took that to heart.

I will try to get some IP readings (I have a couple of them things) and I will look up what it says in the repair manual.
I have a paper copy of the repair manual, but will try to get a PDF copy.
Well they are going on the conservative side IMO... Good infoshackle wrote:Mine is at 130. I contacted Todd Anderson at Aqualung's engineering Dept. and They recommend 135 + or - 5psi.
Allan, do not put your LaSpirotechnique Royal Mistral in the same room as the new USD one.....Two go in .....One comes out......simonbeans wrote:The new Aqualung Mistral I just bought through Luis has an IP of 145 psi. I measured it today. The tank pressure was 1400 psi, which may or may not mean anything. I do not plan on diving it, as I have dived one before and didn't like the hoses/mouthpiece. I will put it away like the Edsel it is.
