I'm looking forward to the day when they will be available. I'll be buying two when they are.

Maybe you should introduce the seats to my ex-wife. That would put them under untold stress. If they didn't fail then, they never will.

Bryan,
How is the testing going? Do you have a date set for putting them up for sale?

Bryan mentioned this in his post about VDH being closed from October 23rd through November 4th in the Announcements section.
As it looks right now, the Phoenix nozzle, New Banjo adaptor and Mistral HP seats will all go up for sale on November24th. I will also have dozens of other items on sale for one week only. More details to come.

Hi Bryan,
I'm interested in how the "Test to Destruct" is going on the new Mistral HP seats. I'm probably not the only one.

Well I didn’t get one to fail on it’s own…..I tried everything I could think of and they seem to have held up just fine. I did get a few to leak but that was because I put some shavings down in the HP side and was purposely trying to simulate a situation where they could fail. One of the many great things about the Mistral is that if you damage the HP seat you get a free flow but as far as I can tell it always flows open so you always have air. May cause you to cut a dive short but as far as I can tell you will not be starved for air.
I’m not saying these seats are any better or worse than the originals as I did my best to duplicate the seat as closely as possible. I do think they will be successful and will be at a price that the Mistral diver can keep a spare or two around and not break the bank.
My plan is to offer USD single stage rebuild kits with and without the HP seat.
Sorry for the long answer to a simple question.

I've been anxiously waiting for things to all come together. I am scanning the 'bay for a beater Mistral that will get a total rebuild from the expert, a silicone diaphram, a new HP seat and hopefully a cast metal Jet-Air case once Creed knocks out a few. I have not decided what to do about hoses or the mouth piece yet. Any suggestions?

Mistral seats have arrived…..Dacor Jerry told me they refused whole shipments of HP seats because they were flawed…..There are a few duds in this batch but I’ll look over them carefully before I send any out. The duds will go back for credit. I think you guys will be glad to have spares! You can star resurrecting all those basket cases you run across.

I think the best thing we could do for the USD Mistrals it take a batch of bodies that have damaged seats in them and devise a tool or a series of tools that can re-dress or re-crown the volcano orifice in them. That would fix 99% of the problems. You will have to cut up a few to do this but I think it would be very benificial in the long run.[/quote]

Any progress on forementioned tool? I sure could use one about now.
