Ther is no made in france sticker below the name plate. on one of the horns, made in france is stamped in clearly. perhaps it was stamped in the early ones then stickered in the later ones. It is in remarkably good condition not a scratch... it is soaking as I type this out.

there were however two resin type gaskets where the hi pressure pad and srping go, only one udner the HP button.

The button was stuck to the older hp diaprhagm good, the diaphragm appeared to be a bit thivcker than the other DA ones i have taken apart.

The HP seat is in good shape, but the spring on it was literally welded by rust together with the hp block. the filter looked rusted out.

The nozzle insiode and out is spotless

made in france is stamped on the inhale side of the horn.

the yoke is a short type also mate, the screw is with no name, cast but rounded ends also matte

Interesting

i look at the label, and the backside is not brass, it is polished silver.

looking at the front of the label, in one spot there is a little of the blue paint chipped off, and brass colour shows underneath. The label is almost mint.

The reg is now out of the cleaning bath, and i must admit it turned out really good. No corrosion or signs of use. The HP screw for setting IP is a highly pished stainless, no signs of brass at all. The HP diapraghm seems to be thicker than those i have removed from other DAAM

Once i get that darn duckbill off the can, I will be overhauling this one. Never had any DAAM so far that was made anywhere but the USA.

This will bring me up to 7 in my collection, and the wife is getting ticked off at my dust collectors as she calls them. I may have to part with it so as to keep her onside. She caught me washing a bunch of hoses in the washing machine.. she threteaned to turn me into a corrugated piece of rubber ands toss me into the washer if she catches me doing it again.

Looks like cleaning will have to be done when she is out teaching.

Thanks for the information, treasureman. Sounds like a mighty fine and interesting regulator you got.

I was putting the DAAM from France back together, I had not noticed that on the body is stamped a single letter "M"

Any hints as to what it may be for, never seen one stamped on a body before for a DAAM

closer examinatiuon it looks like the end of a duckbill the tapered end sort of like a M with a tapered edge on each side. Boy my eyes are getting bad. Soon I wont be able to see a double hose from a single hose
